Mound Branch Kansas
We hold oil and gas lease interests in approximately 8,800 acres located in Elk County, Kansas. The Mound Branch Project is a reserve and infrastructure development program of existing and after-acquired oil and gas lease acreage and nine existing wells that are shut-in awaiting the construction of and interconnection with the Mound Branch Gathering System. Once interconnected to the System, natural gas production from the existing wells and new wells to be drilled in connection with the Development Program will be delivered into a downstream interstate pipeline that serves the Wichita and Kansas City natural gas markets.
The Development Program provides for 150 wells to be drilled over a three year period. The Gathering System is a 15-mile low pressure system with total design capacity of 8,000 Mcf per day. The majority of wells are expected to produce from the Mulky and Summit coals at approximately 1600 feet depth, with upside potential in the Mississippi Lime Stone, and Arbuckle sections at approximately 2200 – 2600 feet. Recent testing of the first Mississippi Lime well (MT19-1) showed absolute open flow at 1.4 mmcf gas per day. The 72-hour flow test indicates that the well will be produced at approximately 350 to 400 Mcfd.
Wells currently drilled and awaiting flow tests and/or interconnection are:
- MT19–1
- MT19-2
- MT29-1
- MT29-2
- DB19-3
- DD16-2
- DD16-3
- DD16-8
